Things about mother’s day that make you go hmm

To start with a Happy Mother’s day quote, I may not have been a good mother but I have been a real mother. A mother is someone to laugh with you when you say something funny – even if she doesn’t understand what is so funny. Someone who listens without interrupting or judging. Someone who loves your children as much as she loves you. That’s all I wanted to be and that’s what I am now...your friend always! Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

Dates for the future

Planning your family’s Mother’s Day breakfast can be stressful. Are you going to make pancakes? Cereal? Eggs? Bacon and eggs? Is it too early for mimosas? And when is Mother’s Day in 2022? On Sunday, May 12th of that year – but don’t worry about planning a brunch yet. You have plenty of time to make those decisions (and maybe even put together a calendar). Here are some tips on how you can enjoy a stress-free weekend with your kids on Sunday. Make it special; show them how much they mean to you. It will be worth it!

How does Mother’s Day end up on different dates?

Mother’s Day is always celebrated on a Sunday because that’s when most people have a day off work. However, Mother’s Day itself was not always celebrated on a fixed date; it used to be celebrated all over spring. Although Mother’s Day is observed in May or June (the earliest recorded being on May 12, 1908), its official date varies from country to country. In 2016 alone there were over 70 different dates! If you are wanting to plan something special for your mommy dearest make sure you check with her first because she might already have plans.

Things you can do with your mom this year

While your mom might be expecting you to take her out for brunch or give her a new piece of jewelry as a Mother’s Day gift, there are plenty of other things you can do together (or on your own) that will build up good memories for both of you. For example, why not get creative and make something homemade? Your mom may have done it when you were little so why not return the favor? A craft project doesn’t have to be difficult—you could even use Pinterest as inspiration. Or if cooking is more your thing than crafting, go ahead and treat your mom by making her favorite meal.
