"Everyone is looking forward to Cristiano's return," manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated before the game. "He's been well-trained. Because he is so careful and competent in all he does, everyone can understand why he is still going. Hopefully, when he takes the field, we will see an increase of  5 To 10% "

Prior to the end of the summer transfer season, Ronaldo returned to the club for a fee of $28 million from Juventus. The occasion marks his big comeback to the club where he rose to worldwide fame from 2003 to 2009.

In the United States, the match will be aired on USA Network (English) and Universo (Spanish) at 10 a.m. ET (Spanish). Both NBCUniversal channels are accessible on fuboTV, which offers a free 7-day trial to new customers.

Ronaldo's final match in a Manchester United shirt was indeed the UEFA Champions League final in 2009 (a 2-0 loss to FC Barcelona), but his final match as a Man United player at Old Trafford was a celebratory one after the club won the League title in 2008-2009 at home against Arsenal in May 2009.

Those games prompted a move to Real Madrid in Spain, followed by a move to Juventus a few years later.

Ronaldo was a dashing winger who could easily overcome opposition players when he departed Old Trafford in 2009. He returns as a skilled goal-scoring center striker, still averaging 20 goals a season at the age of 36.

He recently demonstrated this by scoring two goals for Portugal in a World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, breaking the international goal record for a male player.

What will Ronaldo's jersey number be?

If you watch the game, you'll see that Ronaldo is wearing the same number as he had when he last played for Manchester United: 7.

Another player had the number before Ronaldo arrived, but he gave it up to the superstar: Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani had worn it since joining Manchester United in 2020, but he gave it up to Ronaldo and moved to the No. 21, which he also wears for his nation.

To maintain his 'CR7' identity, Ronaldo took the same number with Real Madrid and Juventus when he left Old Trafford.
